Dr. Ward is a leading consultant in environmental and cannabis testing laboratories. As the president and founder of GK Ward Associates in Washington, he leverages his expertise to provide clients with his expertise throughout Michigan and California. He also liaises with environmental laboratories across multiple states, including Washington, Indiana, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Michigan, as well as several environmental and cannabis testing laboratories in Oregon and California. Moreover, Dr. Ward provides expertise in laboratory design, equipment purchasing and other necessary areas before his clients attempt accreditation.
Before becoming a consultant, Dr. Ward worked for Columbia Medical Services. He was also a laboratory director at Intertek and held various other positions with Underwriters Laboratories, the Environmental Laboratory Network, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. During his tenure with the EPA, Dr. Ward was credited with establishing a laboratory, audit and quality control system and designing a quality assurance program during the late 1980s that is still used in laboratories.
Highly educated, Dr. Ward holds a Doctor of Philosophy in chemical oceanography from the Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric and Earth Science at the University of Miami. He is also certified as a third-party assessor through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Dr. Ward has been active in his professional community as a member of the Oregon Environmental Laboratory Association’s board of directors and the Oregon Environmental Laboratory Association’s accreditation program as an administrator. As a seasoned researcher, he has contributed to over 150 scientific publications. He also received a Plaque Award from the EPA and is among the Top 20 Scientists in Cannabis Testing. Dr. Ward attributes his success to his passion and intelligence.
