Vadec M. Lobza, geoscientist at V Geo Consulting LLC, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in geology.
With two and a half decades of experience to his credit, Mr. Lobza has established a distinguished career in geology consulting, specializing in geosciences, unconventional resources, and oil and gas exploration and production both onshore and offshore. He currently serves as chief geoscientist at Endura Energy and president of geoscience at V Geo Consulting LLC, roles he has held since 2024. His experience includes senior geoscience adviser roles at Exxon Mobil Corporation, where he contributed to global new opportunities from 2021 to 2023, unconventional new opportunities from 2019 to 2021, and exploration regional studies from 2014 to 2018. In these roles he integrated geophysical data and well logs to uncover hydrocarbon potential in offshore Namibia and West Africa, ensuring comprehensive analysis and seismic mapping. He also served as a production geoscientist with XTO Energy from 2018 to 2019 and as geoscience exploration drill well coordinator at Exxon Mobil from 2013 to 2014. Earlier in his career, he worked in unconventional resources exploration from 2010 to 2013, Chad production from 2006 to 2010, and as a geoscientist from 2003 to 2006.
Mr. Lobza laid an educational foundation, earning a Bachelor of Science in geology and a Master of Science in geology, both from The University of Texas at Arlington. He is also a member of The Geological Society of America. In addition, he is proficient in six languages, Polish, Russian, French, German, English, and Spanish. Reflecting on his path, he was born in Poland and immigrated to the United States in 1984 as a political refugee, bringing along his immediate family, including his parents and sister. Before arriving in the U.S., he lived in Algeria and sought asylum in West Germany, giving him a rich multicultural background and proficiency in multiple languages. His first published work was a memoir derived from a symposium that he presented in 1993.
Mr. Lobza’s most notable career achievement includes his role in designing the first seismic survey in the Panama region. His efforts greatly contributed to mapping and clarifying the geological history of the Caribbean side of Panama, a task that is quite rare and challenging. This pioneering work has laid a foundation for understanding the basin’s geological history in detail.
In light of his impressive undertakings, Mr. Lobza received recognition as an outstanding mentor to younger professionals in 2008. He attributes his success to a deep passion for his profession and the unique, detective-like nature of his work, as solving mysteries and uncovering puzzles is a thrilling aspect of his role, and he takes great satisfaction in the challenges and discoveries it presents. Looking to the future, he aims to achieve success in his current projects, paving the way for a fulfilling retirement where he can fully embrace his hobbies. He is committed to maintaining mental and professional activity during this time, valuing personal growth as a continuous pursuit. Above all, he prioritizes his family, dedicating himself to being present for his two sons, aged 11 and 16, as they grow. In his free time, he enjoys woodworking, building large pieces of furniture, aquascaping, and composing music.
