Mr. Dismukes, distinguished for his success and tenure in the oil and gas industry, has led a remarkable career in various capacities over the past few years. Since 2017, he has been serving as the air quality lead for Caerus Oil and Gas LLC, a Denver-based business with a vision to be recognized as the Rocky Mountain region’s most efficient producer of sustainable, affordable natural gas, providing clean energy worldwide. In addition to his lead position, Mr. Dismukes also began serving as the company’s air compliance manager in 2023. Dedicated to his field as a foremost air specialist, he has been fortunate to have such an incredibly supportive boss who encourages him and his team to explore new opportunities and push their boundaries.
In addition to his roles at Caerus Oil and Gas LLC, Mr. Dismukes began serving as an air compliance manager at QB Energy LLC, a privately owned exploration and production company also based in Denver with assets in the Piceance Basin. Since 2024, he has led a team of over five employees while overseeing the leak detection and repair program. He also conducts inspections across 950 facilities and ensures compliance with state and state air regulations. Moreover, Mr. Dismukes monitors 90 locations and the accounting for all aspects of air compliance related to the company’s assets in Western Colorado.
Beginning his career as a meteorologist at McVehil-Monnett Associates, an air quality consulting firm, in 1998, Mr. Dismukes was active in his role for over a decade, based at the company’s headquarters in Englewood, Colorado. In 2010, he pivoted into the oil and gas sector when he joined Whiting Petroleum Corporation as a senior air quality specialist. From 2013 to 2014, Mr. Dismukes was instrumental in his role as a principal air scientist I at Whiting Oil and Gas Corporation. He then joined Bonanza Creek Energy Inc. as a senior air quality specialist between 2014 and 2015 before becoming a supervisor permitting and environmental engineer until 2017.
In preparation for his career, Mr. Dismukes received an undergraduate degree in atmospheric science from Cornell University in Ithaca, New York, in 1992 and a master’s degree in atmospheric science from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana, in 1995. Beyond his degrees, he received several professional credentials, including certification as a consulting meteorologist and in energy environmental, social and governance (ESG) leadership through the Irani Center for Energy Solutions.
Mr. Dismukes’s expertise in state and federal air regulations and compliance for the oil and gas industry and his extensive experience with ESG initiatives have been pivotal to his success. He also credits his good fortune to his passion for atmosphere, air and meteorology. Since transitioning into the oil and gas sector, Mr. Dismukes has successfully implemented various emission reduction projects. He has also raised awareness about more efficient operational methods that reduce emissions while collaborating on solutions, processes and equipment with the engineering team. In light of his accomplishments, Mr. Dismukes has been recognized with several environmental awards, showcasing his hard work.
In the coming years, Mr. Dismukes intends to transform his company and its facilities into some of the cleanest and lowest-emission operations in the U.S. He also plans to continue educating and mentoring his colleagues and the general public about the importance of reducing emissions.
