Prior to his current roles, Mr. Jones excelled as security standards and compliance manager at Crown Castle from 2021 to 2023, where he was responsible for developing and maintaining security standards to ensure organizational compliance with industry regulations. Between 2019 and 2021, he worked as a cybersecurity adviser for supply chain services at FedEx, providing guidance on securing complex supply chain operations against emerging threats.

In 2018 to 2019, Mr. Jones held the position of senior network architect at 84 Lumber Company, where he designed robust network infrastructures to support business operations. He also served as an IT curriculum committee member at Community College of Beaver County from 2012 to 2019, providing his expertise to shape academic programs in information technology.

At DXC Technology Company from 2016 to 2018, Mr. Jones was appointed as both principal network engineer and offering delivery lead for campus networking, overseeing large-scale network projects and ensuring successful delivery of technology solutions. In 2015, he was recruited as a system engineer specializing in collaboration technologies at SMP-CORP.

From 2012 to 2015, Mr. Jones was active as network architect at Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP, where he was responsible for designing secure network environments for a global law firm. Earlier roles to his credit include senior network engineer and network engineer at IPLogic Inc. from 2010 to 2012, where he managed complex networking projects for diverse clients. His career began with positions as network engineer at Technology Services Group from 2008 to 2010 and as network support specialist and IT manager at Cabela’s L.L.C. from 2004 to 2008.

He continued his studies at the aforementioned university with a master’s degree in management and leadership in 2016. He ultimately concluded his academic efforts at Western Governors University in 2019, graduating with a Master of Science in cybersecurity and information assurance. Moreover, Mr. Jones completed certification coursework with Cisco/Microsoft at Belmont Technical College in St. Clairsville in 2008.

Mr. Jones further obtained several industry certifications, including as a certified email authentication specialist through Proofpoint valid through 2026 and a certified ransomware specialist through Proofpoint valid through 2027. He was also professionally trained in Advanced in AI Security Management by ISACA. Recently, Mr. Jones was certified in Understanding the EU Cyber Resilience Act (LFEL1001) from Linux Foundation in 2025.

Mr. Jones attributes his success to a strong love of learning and an unwavering commitment to staying current with new technologies and emerging threats, qualities he considers essential for professionals in his field. He also credits managers throughout his career who were willing to take chances on him early on, particularly one who expanded his responsibilities as a young engineer and encouraged both professional and personal growth.

Mr. Jones has been recognized with several accolades during his career, including his designation as Cisco Champion by Cisco Systems Inc. in 2016 and his induction into the Order of the Sword & Shield in 2021. Looking toward the future, he aims to continue developing professionally alongside his team while aspiring to return to teaching as an educator for future generations of cybersecurity professionals. Mr. Jones also intends to seek opportunities to re-enter the Fortune 500 space with the goal of attaining an administrative post.
