James W. Ross, corporate metallurgical lab manager at TEAM Industries, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scienists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in corporate metallurgical lab management.
With over 20 years of experience to his credit, Mr. Ross has excelled as corporate metallurgical lab manager at TEAM Industries since 2002. In this role, his responsibilities include working with suppliers to ensure all metallurgical processes are consistent, travel in order to visit and inspect all of their heat treaters, troubleshooting parts and determining metallurgical issues, and giving recommendations on how to resolve any and all obstacles. He found success at the University of Cincinnati for 18 years while he worked with the co-op program.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Ross pursued an education at the University of Cincinnati where he earned a Bachelor of Science in metallurgical engineering in 1987. Beyond his responsibilities within the field, he has participated in numerous endeavors outside of his professional circles. He contributed to his community as a soccer and baseball coach.
In addition to his primary vocation, Mr. Ross remains affiliated with various organizations in relation to his areas of expertise. He was a member of ASM International, formerly known as the American Society of Materials. In light of his impressive undertakings, he has accrued several accolades throughout his career. He was presented with the Technical Achievement Award by the Dana Corporation.
Mr. Ross attributes his success to the mentors who have guided, inspired, and supported him throughout his career. His most notable achievement was creating TEAM Industries’ minimum process requirement audit, which is already ingrained in the company’s systems. He trains others so that they can implement the process as well. In the next five years, his intention is to ensure that his ideas for TEAM Industries are sustainable and to continue improving his ideas so that when he eventually retires, the company will be able to build on his successes.
