With many years of experience to his credit, Mr. Griggs has excelled as the director of strategic investments and process planning for The United Soybean Board since 2023, a position in which he helps supervise the nonprofit organization’s portfolio of investments made through the U.S. soybean checkoff program. Working alongside more than 75 other board members, he is additionally responsible for garnering the most accurate and up-to-date information so that The United Soybean Board can make the most informed decisions regarding their yearly investments. Moreover, Mr. Griggs is active as the co-founder of Nave Analytics, a data coherence hub and delivery system that enables versatile digital tools to help enhance irrigation operations while empowering growers and land managers in their irrigation decisions.
Prior to these positions, Mr. Griggs served as a geospatial scientist with The Climate Corporation from 2017 to 2023. Likewise, he was appointed as a senior technical program manager with the aforementioned corporation between 2020 and 2023, a role in which he refined his skills in portfolio and program management. Mr. Griggs previously worked as a senior geographic information scientist with HydroBio Inc. from 2012 to 2017, a start-up company in which he successfully and proudly developed technology that eliminated the need for probes and maintenance in agricultural irrigation.
Before embarking on his professional path, Mr. Griggs pursued an education at Mississippi State University, from which he earned a Bachelor of Science in geosciences with an emphasis in meteorology in 2006. Soon thereafter, he began his career as an agricultural research assistant with New Mexico State University from 2006 to 2012. Mr. Griggs concluded his academic efforts at New Mexico State University in 2011, graduating with a Master of Applied Geography with a minor in remote sensing and geographic information science.
As a testament to his impressive career, Mr. Griggs has been presented with several internal work awards. He has attributed his success to the support of his family, who encouraged him to seek his ambitions despite the limited resources and scarce prospects of his small-town upbringing. Looking toward the future, Mr. Griggs hopes to nurture and stabilize, Nave Analytics, by either maintaining a high-functioning organization that serves both his team and their customers effectively or by positioning it for potential integration with another company in the future.
