Building on this foundation, she continued her academic ascent, culminating in a PhD. in mechanical and aerospace engineering from the same institution in 2015.

Dr. Remington’s professional trajectory began with immersive roles in research and academia, including stints as a summer research assistant at the University of Michigan in 2009 and a part-time engineer intern at General Atomics from 2011 to 2012. This paved the way for her transition into Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, initially as a visiting student in 2012 and then as a graduate research student during her doctoral studies from 2010 to 2015. Subsequently, she assumed the role of postdoctoral researcher at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, honing her expertise in physics and research from 2016 to 2018. Her tenure culminated with her position as a physicist at the same institution, where she made substantial contributions until 2021. Presently, Dr. Remington stands as the co-founder and chief scientific officer of Maelstrom Water Technologies, leveraging her extensive knowledge and experience to drive innovation in her field.

Dr. Remington’s scientific contributions have left an indelible mark on the field of materials science and engineering. As an accomplished author with numerous published works, including groundbreaking articles like “Numerical Simulations of Laboratory-Scale, Hypervelocity-Impact Experiments for Asteroid-Deflection Code Validation” and “Deformation and failure in extreme regimes by high-energy pulsed lasers,” she has continually propelled the boundaries of scientific exploration.
