Her experience also includes roles as co-founder and chief executive officer of RamanID from 2023 to 2024, and co-founder and vice president of Calico Bio Labs Inc. from 2013 to 2023. She was lab manager and co-founder of Verano Bioscience from 2013 to 2017, senior research associate at Ventana Medical Systems Inc. from 2007 to 2012, and research associate at Epitomics, an Abcam Company, from 2006 to 2007, as well as senior chemical engineer at Medico Inc. from 2000 to 2002.

Ms. Mahrat is known as a visionary serial entrepreneur and respected leader in clinical research and biotechnology, with a strong foundation in chemical engineering that drives her pioneering work in diagnostics and artificial intelligence. Over the past two decades, she has made substantial contributions to antibody development for therapeutics and diagnostics, guiding candidates from preclinical stages to clinical development. As the founder and chief executive officer of companies including RamanID, Precision Biopharma, Calico Biolabs Inc., and Verano Bioscience, she has been at the forefront of transformative health care innovations. Additionally, she serves as a research lead at Precision Biopharma, advocates for personalized health care, and actively supports women’s empowerment. She also dedictes her time to the industry through an advisory role at Daybreak Labs and membership in leading organizations like the American Association for Cancer Research and the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Reflecting on her path, Ms. Mahrat’s she takes great pride in her groundbreaking patents, including innovations in binding proteins, persistent sanitizers, bacteria detection, recombinant antibody structures, and viral detection through Raman spectroscopy. Her experience living with an autoimmune disease also fuels her commitment to developing new therapies, especially for protein-related autoimmune conditions and stem cell treatments.
