Keith Allen, PhD, senior data scientist at PeopleTec, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in information technology.
Dr. Allen, a leading senior data scientist at PeopleTec with locations in Alabama and Colorado, has been serving in his position since 2022. As such, he has led the artificial development (AI) team while developing custom AI tools and architecture in the cloud. Additionally, he has been instrumental in leading education programs and training. Before accepting his recent position, Dr. Allen was a senior research scientist for the organization between 2021 and 2022. His expertise in AI and systems engineering has been pivotal to his continued progression in his field.
Before joining PeopleTec, Dr. Allen was a senior data scientist at Guidehouse from 2019 to 2020, a senior system engineer at Bevilacqua Research Corporation in 2019, and a senior flight test officer and team lead for the U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground with the U.S. Army between 2005 and 2019. Most honorably, he served his country as an infantry officer in the U.S. Army from 2001 to 2009.
A graduate of Virginia Military Institute, Dr. Allen received a Bachelor of Science in civil and environmental engineering in 2001. He also garnered a Master of Science in engineering management with a focus on modeling, simulation and statistical quality control at the University of Arizona in 2015 and a Doctor of Philosophy in data science from Northcentral University in 2021.
Beyond his degrees, Dr. Allen has become highly qualified in his industry through various professional credentials, including certification as a modeling and simulation professional through the National Training and Simulation Association, project management professional through the Project Management Institute, DAWIA Level III certification for test and evaluation, and program management certification from Defense Acquisition University.
Besides his professional endeavors, Dr. Allen has been active as a guest lecturer for various nonprofit organizations, educational institutions, social service organizations and small businesses since 2013. Previously, he served as a subcommittee chair of the industry advisory board at the University of Arizona from 2015 to 2018 and provided career guidance for young engineers at the Yuma and Yuma Proving Ground of the U.S. Army between 2005 and 2019.
Dr. Allen remains active with several industry-leading organizations, including the American Statistical Association, the National Society of Leadership and Success and the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. These memberships have been pivotal to his career and ability to network with like-minded individuals.
Lauded for his success at PeopleTec, Dr. Allen was recognized for his contributions to AI development, which led to various tools with capabilities for customers that have added significant value. Earlier in his career, he was noted for his involvement in flight testing and a groundbreaking project that focused on developing innovative measurement techniques and technology to model and predict the behavior of wake vortices behind aircraft.
In light of his professional success, Dr. Allen received several corporate awards and recognitions. He also received several military honors for his service. He attributes much of his good fortune to the guidance and support of various mentors throughout his career and the foundation he received from his parents while coming of age.
Dr. Allen is enthusiastic about the future, with plans to further advance AI tools necessary for an evolving society that is becoming more dependent on them. He also envisions teaching college students and developing courses where he can impact future leaders.
