James A. In more recent years, he has held several prominent positions that underscore his commitment to the field. Since 2011, he has served as the chief operating officer at Enviropavers Inc., and since 2019, he has also held the position of chief science officer and chair of the board of directors at Standard H2 Inc. in Ravenna, Ohio. Additionally, Mr. Wasas holds the title of chief science officer and chair of the board of directors at H2 Final Filter Inc., also located in Ravenna, since 2021. His vision to enhance human life and protect the environment by reducing carbon dioxide emissions and pollution from fossil fuels has been a driving force throughout his career.

Before his present positions, Mr. Wasas’s professional trajectory has been characterized by a series of influential roles, beginning with his service in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1971. This experience instilled in him a sense of discipline and leadership that would prove invaluable in his subsequent positions. In 1988, Mr. Wasas became the director of research at Geevor del Ecuador S.A. in Quito, Ecuador, where he served until 1990. He then became recognized as the chief operating officer at Amerbrit S.A., also in Quito, between 1990 and 1995. His expertise continued to grow as he assumed the position of technical director at Rumicuri S.A. in Ponce Enriquez, Ecuador, from 1995 to 1997.

Over the next 15 years, Mr. Wasas excelled with companies such as Compañía Minera Zambrano S.A. in Machala, Ecuador, and Minanca in Portovelo, Ecuador, as a project manager, and with Conklin Marketing Inc. in Matawan, New Jersey, and Swapsol Corporation in Eatontown, New Jersey, as a chief science officer. More recently, he served as the director of refining operations at Great American Mint & Refinery Inc. in Anaheim, California, between 2013 and 2015, and as the chief science officer at Kent PaverBrick LLC & Kent PaverBrick Holdings LLC in Aurora, Ohio, from 2015 to 2020.

Mr. Wasas’s journey began with a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry with a minor in business administration from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, in 1968. This academic foundation laid the groundwork for his professional endeavors, equipping him with the knowledge and skills necessary to address complex environmental challenges.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Wasas is actively involved in professional and civic organizations. He is a member of the American Chemical Society, where he stays informed about industry trends and developments. He is also affiliated with The Statue of Liberty Club. Mr. Wasas previously served on the Point Pleasant Beach Environmental Commission from 2010 to 2013.

Throughout his career, Mr. Wasas has achieved notable milestones that reflect his dedication to scientific advancement and environmental sustainability. He holds several patents related to the conversion of hydrogen sulfide and the destruction of carbonaceous materials. These innovations notably align with his goal of reducing pollution and promoting a hydrogen economy. Mr. Wasas’s achievements have been recognized with several accolades, such as the Platinum Award from the World Beverage Competition in 2009.

Mr. Wasas’s legacy is one of innovation and environmental stewardship. He aspires to be remembered for inventing solutions that address pollution challenges, a testament to his lifelong commitment to enhancing human life and preserving the environment for future generations.
