Before joining General Datatech, LP, Mr. Saur was a technical solutions architect for the mass infrastructure group at Cisco from 2022 to 2024. During his tenure, he contributed to the design and implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects, further honing his skills in complex network environments.
From 2018 to 2022, Mr. Saur worked as a customer solutions architect specializing in network automation at CCI Systems, Inc. He initially served as a senior systems engineer at CCI Systems, Inc., in early 2018, providing high-level engineering support and contributing to the company’s technical growth.
Between 2014 and 2018, Mr. Saur was a network engineer at Midcontinent Communications. He played a key role in maintaining and optimizing network performance for the organization’s extensive client base. Mr. Saur was first hired by Midcontinent Communications in 2007 as a network engineer until 2010.
Mr. Saur also excelled as a network engineer II and team lead at SDN Communications from 2010 to 2014, where he managed engineering teams and oversaw critical projects that enhanced the company’s technological capabilities. His earliest role was as a data systems engineer at Inter-Tel Datanet from 2004 to 2007, where he gained valuable experience in data communications and systems integration.
Mr. Saur’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in e-business and IT from Bellevue University in Bellevue, Nebraska, earned in 2003. This degree provided him with a strong foundation in both business processes and technical systems, which supported his subsequent achievements in network automation. Mr. Saur continued to expand his knowledge through professional development, earning the IBM generative AI prompt engineering basics certification in 2025.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Mr. Saur has been civically engaged as a Meals on Wheels America volunteer since 2025, demonstrating a commitment to giving back to the community.
Mentorship has played a significant role in shaping Mr. Saur’s philosophy. He draws inspiration from figures outside his industry, including renowned wrestler and coach Dan Gable, former Navy SEAL Jocko Willink and author Ryan Holiday. He values Stoicism as taught by Holiday and once participated in a live webinar with him on discipline and leadership.
Mr. Saur attributes his success to an unwavering determination to learn continuously and create value within his profession. He emphasizes the importance of a growth mindset, perseverance and a strong work ethic, qualities that have defined his approach throughout his career. He credits much of his resilience to lessons learned as a high school wrestler, where facing stronger opponents taught him self-awareness and adaptability. These experiences were further reinforced by nearly a decade of adult Taekwondo training.
Looking ahead, Mr. Saur aims to travel extensively while working remotely as a digital nomad to immerse himself in different cultures. He plans to further develop his skills in software development and business while identifying key areas for personal growth. Mr. Saur’s professional objectives include attaining advanced Cisco Automation credentials, such as Cisco Automation DevNet professional or expert status, building on early career benefits gained through various Cisco networking certifications, and establishing greater credibility as a network automation engineer capable of developing software solutions for customers.
