Judy C. Stribling, Scientific Writer and Editor at Renegade Rabbit, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements, and leadership in science.

Drawing on her considerable expertise in writing, editing, researching biomedical databases, teaching medical students, rounding with clinicians on hospital floors, and managing teams, Ms. Stribling presently excels as a freelance scientific writer and editor. She started her career in 1992 as co-owner and vice president of Cadence Group Associates, where she co-authored proposals in pursuit of U.S. government contracts and served as project manager at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention until 1998. In subsequent years, she thrived as assistant to the vice president of Cardiac Marketing at Pfizer from 1999 to 2006 and as a project archivist, writer and consultant for Lenox Hill Hospital from 2006 until 2007. She later pursued a career in library sciences, serving as a clinical medical librarian and as special assistant to the library director at Weill Cornell Medical College between 2007 and 2010.

Ms. Stribling gained valuable expertise in library sciences as library director for the Swedish Institute in 2010. She likewise served as an information and education services librarian for the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai from 2011 to 2013. In 2013, she returned to Weill Cornell Medical College as an assistant librarian and manager of the Myra Mahon Patient Resource Center, and was later promoted to assistant director of clinical services and associate librarian at the same college.

Prior to embarking on her professional journey, Ms. Stribling earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Arts in history from The University of Southern Mississippi and a Master of Library Science from Pratt Institute. She is a licensed American Hospital Information Professional and Consumer Health Information Specialist through the Medical Library Association. To cultivate her knowledge of her fields, she maintains memberships with several organizations, including the Medical Library Association, the New York Academy of Medicine, the Institute for Healthcare Advancement, the Health Care Education Association and Phi Alpha Theta.

Ms. Stribling has published 13 peer-reviewed articles; served as editor of The Clinical Medical Librarian’s Handbook; and authored two book chapters in the publication, “Virtual Services in the Health Science Library: A Handbook.” In honor of her lofty achievements, she was given the Health Information Outreach Award through the Network of the National Library of Medicine and was named Consumer Health Librarian of the Year through the Medical Library Association. She is most proud of her research work regarding consumer health education and looks forward to writing another chapter for a book and to continue educating patients.
