Mr. Marks enjoyed a fulfilling career in nuclear engineering that spanned more than three decades, culminating in his role as a senior licensed reactor operator at the Exelon Corporation until 2021. Throughout the course of his employment with the company, he was responsible for overseeing all operations at the nuclear plant he was assigned to, including spinning up the reactor and training new hires. Proud to have distinguished himself as one of only 5,000 senior licensed nuclear reactor operators in the world, Mr. Marks is likewise a 13-year submarine veteran of the United States Navy, having served as an engineering officer of the watch throughout the course of his duties. During this time, he was notably bestowed with several accolades for his performance, including recognition as Sailor of the Year and an Achievement Medal, among other awards.
In accounting for his success, Mr. Marks largely credits the influence of his father – a brilliant mathematician who instilled within the younger man a diligent work ethic and a penchant for hands-on labor.
