David Stachura, PhD, Chief Scientific Officer at SpecBio, Founder and Chief Executive Officer at Philanthropic Pharma Inc., and Chief Scientific Officer and Chief Operations Officer at FACTORFIVE Skincare, has been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who Top Scientists for dedication, achievements and leadership in Stem Cell Biology and Skincare.

Dr. Stachura has led a diverse, rewarding career in stem cell biology, skincare and higher education, currently serving as the chief scientific officer at SpecBio, a biotechnology research company in Chino, California, since 2020. Contributing his expertise to further research initiatives, he focuses his research on using human-derived stem cell technology to cure a multitude of diseases.

In addition to his work at SpecBio, Dr. Stachura has succeeded as the founder and chief executive officer of Philanthropic Pharma Inc. Established in 2023 as a nonprofit biotechnology organization, Philanthropic Pharma Inc. concentrates on developing technology to identify, prevent and treat issues that threaten human lives.

Furthermore, Dr. Stachura has excelled at FACTORFIVE Skincare in Chino as the chief scientific officer since 2020 and chief operations officer since 2025, where he has been responsible for driving scientific innovation and product development. In this capacity, he leads research on human stem cells for therapeutic applications and develops innovative methods to prompt stem cells to secrete proteins that benefit skin rejuvenation and repair. He is also responsible for overseeing product manufacturing in the laboratory and ensuring seamless physical operations across both laboratory and warehouse environments. Dr. Stachura’s most notable achievement at FACTORFIVE Skincare has been the development of a patented technology that induces human stem cells to respond as if there is a wound, enabling the collection of proteins that promote healing and rejuvenation. He takes pride in both creating this process and securing patents to protect and advance its use in commercial products.

Before his leadership roles in the industry, Dr. Stachura spent nearly a decade at California State University, Chico. As a full professor from 2022 to 2024, he taught undergraduate and master’s level students in molecular biology while conducting studies on stem cell formation and differentiation. His tenure on campus began as an assistant professor from 2014 to 2017, followed by five years as an associate professor, until 2022. Throughout these academic appointments, Dr. Stachura advanced research initiatives, secured external funding, and provided instruction and mentorship in molecular biology, immunology and developmental biology. His efforts were instrumental in fostering the next generation of scientists.

Dr. Stachura was also a faculty member at the University of California San Diego. Hired in 2006 as a mentor, he guided students through complex scientific concepts and laboratory techniques for over five years. Dr. Stachura also briefly served as a lecturer and instructor in 2011, teaching advanced biological sciences. Additionally, from 2011 to 2014, he worked as an assistant project scientist at the University of California San Diego, where he contributed to significant research projects in cellular biology.

Among other influential roles, Dr. Stachura gained editorial experience as an editor and proofreader for American Journal Experts from 2010 to 2011. Earlier in his career, he was a graduate student teacher, teaching assistant and laboratory instructor at the University of Pennsylvania between 2002 and 2006 while pursuing his doctorate. Dr. Stachura’s initial exposure to laboratory research began as an independent undergraduate researcher at Lehigh University from 1999 to 2000, while working toward his undergraduate degree.

Dr. Stachura’s academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in molecular biology from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, completed in 2000, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy in cell and molecular biology from the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, earned in 2006. He also completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California San Diego in 2011. These academic achievements have been foundational to Dr. Stachura’s expertise in stem cell biology and skin care, fields in which he has become widely recognized for his contributions.

Beyond his education and commitment to academia and entrepreneurship, Dr. Stachura’s scholarly contributions include co-authoring “Loss of IP3R-Ca2+ Signaling in Thymocytes Leads to Aberrant Development and Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia,” published by Nature Communications in 2014. He attributes much of his success to a lifelong passion for science and problem-solving that began with an early curiosity about how things work. Dr. Stachura’s formative college laboratory experiences solidified his desire to study the human body at the molecular level.

Throughout nearly three decades of professional experience, Dr. Stachura has demonstrated exceptional expertise in stem cell biology and skin care while earning recognition for groundbreaking achievements that continue to shape both academic research and commercial biotechnology applications. Looking ahead, he aims to expand FACTORFIVE Skincare so its products can reach more people while advancing the company’s technology toward clinical applications. He is also dedicated to developing treatments for conditions such as diabetic ulcers, severe wounds, burns and scars, as well as to creating an inhaled version of the technology for lung diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Dr. Stachura’s overarching ambition is to move these innovations into clinical settings where they can directly benefit patients.
